DWI Checkpoint in Portsmouth Announced

The Portsmouth Police Department will conduct the sobriety checkpoint this weekend.

Portsmouth Police Chief Stephen J. DuBois has announced that there will be a sobriety checkpoint this weekend in Portsmouth.

The Rockingham County Superior Court authorized the checkpoint, which the Portsmouth Police Department is using as part of a continued effort to apprehend drunken drivers.

Police also encouraged patrons of bars and restaurants who plan to be drinking alcohol to use designated drivers, cabs or call a friend for a ride.
