Former Portsmouth Schools Worker Sentenced After Sex Assault

Kenneth Kimber pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl last year.

A former Portsmouth schools worker was sentenced to 3 to 8 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in 2012.

Foster's Daily Democrat reported Kenneth Kimber, 35, received the sentence in Rockingham County Superior Court. Read the full story here.

Kimber was charged with sexually assaulting the girl last year. Prosecutors said he used Facebook to contact her.

The age of sexual consent in New Hampshire is 16.

After the incident was brought to light, Kimber was fired from his information technology job in the Portsmouth School Department. He was also fired as a basketball coach at Noble High School in North Berwick, Maine.
