Governor's Office to Hear Pannaway Manor Traffic Complaints
After receiving a letter from Pannaway Manor last month, Gov. Chris Sununu's office will meet with Pannaway Manor residents.
PORTSMOUTH, NH - After receiving a letter from Pannaway Manor residents last month, Gov. Chris Sununu's office has accepted an invitation to talk about "ever increasing" highway traffic along Interstate 95. According to WickedLocal, Democratic state Reps. Peter Somssich and Laura Pantelakos sent a written invitation to Sununu in April on behalf of residents.
In the letter, residents asked Gov. Sununu to come to a kitchen table listening session to hear the noise and talk about solutions. Both representatives and residents have requested sound barriers along their portion of the interstate highway for years.
“These residents have been waiting patiently since approximately 1975 for noise mitigation measures that they were entitled to under federal law at the time,” the letter states. “However, as you mentioned in your (February State of the State) speech, nothing makes a stronger impression than experiencing the situation first-hand.”

Sununu’s spokesman, Ben Vihstadt, confirmed the invitation has been accepted and the governor’s policy adviser, Harold Parker, will visit the neighborhood Tuesday night. Somssich said he and Pantelakos will be there, will be joined by residents and they will visit two neighborhood homes.
