Hampton Man Arrested After Passing Out in Flower Bed

The following are excerpts from the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Monday, Sept. 9.

Monday:

  • At 7:51 a.m., police reported a motor vehicle versus a deer accident on Pease Boulevard and International Drive.
  • At 11:05 a.m., police reported a lost or stolen wallet on Lafayette Road.
  • At 12:44 p.m., police reported a customer had some money stolen at a Woodbury Avenue business.
  • At 1:58 p.m., police reported criminal trespassing on Maplewood Avenue after the caller said some homeless people were sleeping in a warehouse where road salt is stored.
  • At 3:22 p.m., police arrested a Hampton man on Chestnut Street after he passed out in a flower bed. Eric Baczewski, 31, of 10 Evergreen Road was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest or detention, criminal threatening (intimidation, etc.), and taking into protective custody for alcoholism.
  • At 5:30 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Wedgewood Road after the caller said several juveniles broke into her daughter's basement and broke some items.
