Man Stabbed During Late Night Fight in Portsmouth

Police are searching for more information after two people were seriously injured during a late night fight on Fleet Street.

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - Police are searching for more information after two people were seriously injured during a late night fight on Fleet Street.

According to Portsmouth Police, officers were called to Gilley's PM Lunch cart at 175 Fleet Street around 12:30 a.m. on May 29 for the report of a fight.

According to Gilley's staff, employees asked the two men to leave but the fight spilled outside onto Fleet Street. According to police, when officers arrived they found one man suffering a stab wound who needed immediate medical attention.

Police said Officer Jordan Wells applied emergency first aid until the fire department arrived on scene to transport the individual to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.

A second individual was also transported with a head wound.

According to police, officers including a K-9 unit were called in to search for the weapon used, which they found nearby.

Police said the individual with the stab wound required emergency surgery and is recovering in stable
condition. The second individual was treated and released.

Portsmouth Police said they believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
