Man Throws Garbage Can Through Restaurant Window

The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Saturday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 3.

Saturday:

  • At 12:37 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman on Hanover Street. Ann D. Devine, 55, of address unknown, was charged with criminal trespass.
  • At 12:52 a.m., police reported a fight at the Vaughn Mall where a woman was pushed to the ground and injured.
  • At 2:02 a.m., police reported disorderly conduct after the caller said there were three to four men knocking over trash cans and hitting cars on Union and Islington streets.
  • At 2:06 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Hanover and Bridge streets after the caller said a man smashed a window of a car and took something inside of the vehicle.
  • At 11:10 a.m., police reported a two-car accident on Lafayette Road without injury.
  • At 1:10 p.m., police arrested a Jamaica Plain, Mass., man on Wedgewood Road. Joseph Fierros, 33, of 926 Parker St. was charged with criminal trespass.
  • At 1:35 p.m., police reported fraud on Woodbury Avenue.
  • At 5:01 p.m., police arrested a 15-year-old juvenile for a bike theft on Highland Street.
  • At 6:04 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Greenleaf Woods Drive after the caller said his vehicle's tire was slashed.
  • At 7:17 p.m., police reported a hit and run motor vehicle accident on the roof of the High Hanover Parking Garage.
  • At 8:18 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Islington Street after the caller said someone took a political sign from her front yard and damaged her picket fence.
  • At 8:42 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Marcy Street after a bunch of kids were seen smashing pumpkins.
Sunday:
  • At 1:26 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Maplewood Avenue and Hanover Street. Simon J. Lampert, 34, of 7 Central Ave. was wanted for issuing bad checks.
  • At 1:39 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Congress Street where a fight occurred at a restaurant between an employee and another male subject. Police say the male subject returned to the restaurant and threw a trash can through the front window.
