Manchester Man Arrested On Strangulation Charge: Portsmouth Log

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Maximino Sierra Meza, 35, of Erie Street in Manchester was arrested at 6:37 p.m. on July 19 on a felony second-degree assault charge as well as domestic violence-simple assault and three similar assault charges. Officers were sent to Osprey Drive for a report of a man assaulting a woman as reported by a person inside the home. The man later left the area. The woman refused treatment but accused the man of strangling her. Police put a be-on-the-lookout call for the man's vehicle and it was found later on Lafayette Road. The man arrested and put in preventative detention. ICE also put a detainer on the suspect.

Ryan Frank Preston, 34, of Woodford Street in Portland, Maine, was arrested on two warrants at 3:40 p.m. on July 19. Officers were sent to Market Street for a man possibly overdosing in the entrance of a restaurant. The caller said the man was unresponsive but she didn't see him taking anything. Officers caught up with the man, Preston, and he was arrested on warrants out of Seabrook and Epping. About 21 hours later, he was arrested on burglary and other charges.

Alexandra Edythe Jackson, 27, of Central Road in Rye was arrested at 11:35 p.m. on July 18 on two domestic violence-simple assault charges. Police were sent to Austin Street for a report of a woman accusing a man of pepper spraying her. After speaking with the man, the woman was arrested.

Edwin Christy, 85, of Richards Avenue in Portsmouth was arrested at 9:38 a.m. on July 18 on a fugitive from justice charge. The request for the arrest came from the Martin County Florida Sheriff's Office via Rockingham County. According to Treasure Coast News, Christy was arrested by sheriffs in June 2016 on violation of probation, homicide, and negligent manslaughter-vehicular charges. Christy was living in Kittery, Maine, at the time. In March 2014, Christy was arrested on driving under the influence-manslaughter charge and two counts of DUI with property damage, according to the Martin County Hometown News. He was living in Hobe Sound at the time of the arrest.

Alicia Rose Tucker, 20, of Littleworth Road in Dover was arrested at 9:05 p.m. on July 17 on a violation of a protective order charge. A van was stopped at Middle Street and Richards Avenue and the driver was found to have had a protective order against the passenger and Tucker was arrested.

Jan C. Weatherby III, 54, of Broad Street in Portsmouth received a summons at 7:22 p.m. on July 17 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge after a stop on Congress Street.
