Portsmouth Man Charged with Resisting Arrest

The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Tuesday:

  • At 6:26 a.m., police reported the theft of a tablet, smart phone and a wallet on Lafayette Road.
  • At 9:40 a.m., police reported a drug offense at Portsmouth High School on Andrew Jarvis Drive.
  • At 9:49 a.m., police reported truancy on Sherburne Road after a student walked away from his school.
  • At 11:26 a.m., police reported a two-car accident on Willard Avenue and Lafayette Road without any injuries.
  • At 11:35 a.m., police arrested a Manchester woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after she turned herself in at the police station. Brianna E. Raynes, 26, of 383 Manchester St., Floor 2, was wanted for five counts of forgery and for receiving stolen property.
  • At 12:11 p.m., police reported the theft of a wallet on Union Street.
  • At 12:38 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Bow Street after some graffiti was found on a building.
  • At 1:27 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man on Deer Street following a disorderly conduct complaint. Alexander Keown, 27, of 549 State St., Apt. 5 was charged with resisting arrest or detention and violating the city's skateboarding and rollerblading ordinance.
  • At 3:52 p.m., police reported a simple assault on Hanover Street.
  • At 5:12 p.m., police reported the theft of an iPad mini on Freedom Circle.
  • At 8:11 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man on Middle Street. Nicholas A. Mecum, 35, no fixed address, Apt. 621, was charged with criminal trespass.
  • At 8:39 p.m., police reported criminal trespassing on Middle Street.
  • At 11:54 p.m., police reported that a stolen bicycle was recovered on High Street and Hanover Street after the caller said he located it attached to a bike rack. The caller said he wanted to leave a note to give the person who took his bike a chance to return it.
