Mental Health Organization Helps Clients Obtain A Supported Job

Seacoast Pathways offers a unique employment opportunity tailor made for someone with a mental health condition who would like to work a little, and also receive support from Seacoast Pathways and the employer of the job offered (Atrezzi in Portsmouth)

It's called "Transitional Employment" because it is, indeed, transitional. It gives someone the opportunity to return to work in a carefully designed job as the first step to obtaining more employment in the future if needed. It's "the first step" - but not a big step.

It offers light work (simple preparation of food samples,) approx $8 per hour, one or two days per week (no more than 15 hours) and, if the employee is ever sick or too anxious to work, Seacoast Pathways will replace him/her until ready to return. This eliminates the worry of being fired or replaced. The job is meant to last 6 months and help give the employee confidence in working as well as a resume for future work. It just involves becoming a member of Seacoast Pathways...that's where the support comes from.
