More Beer, Hard Cider Sales at Farmers' Market

The Portsmouth Farmers' Market will have some additional local goods.

The Portsmouth City Council has granted permission for 7th Settlement Brewery to sell growlers of their beer at the Portsmouth Farmers' Market.

Councilors on July 14 also approved a request by Nottingham Orchard to sell its hard cider at the market.

The council previously approved the beer sales of 7th Settlement's sub-brand, One Love Brewery, at the Saturday market.

Founder-Brewer Josh Henry noted that there would be no samples given at the farmers' market. The beer will be in either 32-ounce or 64-ounce growlers, which will be filled and sealed at the 7th Settlement Brewery in Dover and then sold at the market.

The two applicants are part of the Seacoast Growers Association. Jewell Towne Vineyards and Throwback Brewery are already vendors at the Portsmouth Farmers' Market.

The beer sales are just a fraction of the local goods sold at the market.

For a full list of vendors, see the Seacoast Growers Association website.

The Portsmouth Farmers' Market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 1 in the parking lot outside City Hall at 1 Junkins Ave.
