Multi Hour Manhunt Ends With Suspect In Custody In Dover
Local police, NH State Police, and Sheriffs searched for a wanted who fled into a wooded area in Dover, NH and was placed into custody
DOVER, NH - Dover Police, NH State Police, and Strafford County Sheriff's office flooded an area in Dover Tuesday afternoon looking for a wanted suspect.
Police say Somersworth Police originally attempted to stop the vehicle but it fled towards Dover.
The incident which began at 12:25 pm in Dover started when the suspect fled from a white Honda on Old Rochester Road near Weeks Crossing. A woman from the vehicle was found in the wooded area nearby and was detained.
Police confirmed the male who fled was confirmed to be Zachary Lajoie, 24 who had a warrant for his arrest.

NH State Police assisted in setting up a perimeter due to the highway being in the immediate vicinity. NHSP brought Troopers with K9’s to assist in the search.
At one point there was a confirmed sighting of Lajoie on Sullivan Road which brought a large police presence to that area.

Residents in the area of the search received reverse 911 calls advising them there was a potentially armed suspect and asked for residents to remain in their residence.
Just after 5:00 pm the suspect was taken into custody on Old Rochester Rd.
The suspect was taken to Dover Police to be booked. According to police he will face multiple charges which will be forthcoming.
