OBITUARY: Jennifer Lee 'Jenn' Marcelais

The Portsmouth resident died Sept. 19 at the age of 39.

Jennifer Lee "Jenn" Marcelais, 39, of Portsmouth, N.H., passed away peacefully on September 19, at Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, N.H., with her family at her side.

Born in Haverhill, on December 10, 1972, Jenn attended Amesbury schools and was a graduate of Newburyport High School. She attended Northern Essex Community College and received her degree from Salem State College. She was employed in web-site development. She was the owner of Souloyster Web Studios in Portsmouth. Her philosophy was "Always believe that something wonderful is about to happen." She loved to travel and loved history, especially cemetery archeology. She was the author of standing websites "gravematter.com" and "seacoastphotographs.com." She was an avid photographer and loved Portsmouth. She loved to have fun with her family and friends and adored her cats.

She is survived by her father, Scott J. Marcelais of Roswell, Ga.; her mother, Carol (Goodwin) Marcelais of Plaistow, N.H.; her brothers, Colby Picanso of Portsmouth, N.H. and Ethan Shultz of Cedar Rapids, IA; a sister, Laura Shultz of Ames, Iowa; her maternal grandmother, Dolores Goodwin and her late grandfather David Goodwin both of Amesbury; her late paternal grandparents, Elizabeth Marcelais and Joseph Marcelais, both of Amesbury. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Per Jenn's request, there will be a Celebration of Life, Sunday, September 23 at Noon at the home of Elaine Lindroth, 48 Jenness Avenue, Rye Beach, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hyder Family Hospice House, 285 County Farm Rd., Dover, NH 03820.
