Downtown Parking Ticket Dispute Leads to Police Call

The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Thursday, Sept. 26 to Friday, Sept. 27.

Thursday:

  • At 12:46 p.m., police arrested a York, Maine woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Piscataqua Road. Taylor K. Young, 27, of 3 Ramsdell Lane was wanted for conduct after an accident, operating without a valid license and misuse or failure to display plates.
  • At 1:44 p.m., police arrested a Belmont man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice after he turned himself in at the police station. David A. Thurston, 58, of 105 Hurricane Road was wanted for reckless conduct; placing another in danger and second degree assault.
Friday:
  • At 6:37 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Lafayette Road after the caller said someone smashed the window of a front loader overnight.
  • At 7:03 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Washington Street after the caller reported a broken windshield.
  • At 10:44 a.m., police arrested a Portsmouth man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Lafayette Road. Heath J. Blom, 31, of 1247 South St. was wanted for two counts of stalking, criminal mischief (vandalism), resisting arrest or detention and default or breach of bail conditions.
  • At 11:12 a.m., police reported a two-car accident on Richards Avenue and South Street.
  • At 11:38 a.m., police arrested a Dover man for drunken driving on Fleet and Congress streets. Patrick Modern, 27, of 43 Court St., Apt. 3 was charged with driving while intoxicated, disobeying a police officer and conduct after an accident.
  • At 1:47 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Islington Street after the caller reported broken windshield wipers on their vehicle.
  • At 2:14 p.m., police reported a theft of some cash from a resident on Jones Avenue.
  • At 4:43 p.m., police reported a fight on Porter Street behind the Music Hall.
  • At 6:45 p.m., police reported disorderly conduct on Congress Street after the caller said a city Parking Enforcement employee that tried to give him a parking ticket earlier struck his vehicle several times and then kicked it and caused $1,000 of damage.
