Pease Committee Chairman Passes Away

Gov. Hassan praises Art Nickless, who had a long battle with cancer; family is still raising money to offset medical bills.

The chairman of the Pease Development Authroity Executive Committee, Art Nickless, has passed away due to cancer, according to press reports.

A fund was set up earlier this year to assist the family in paying for medical bills.

Gov. Maggie Hassan called Nickless “a devoted public servant” and a beloved member of the community, noting that she and her husband, Tom, were saddened to learn of his passing.

“For more than three decades, he served on many boards and committees, making his community and his state a better place,” she stated. “The outpouring of support from the community as he battled cancer reflects just how many lives he touched, and I join all Granite Staters in sending our thoughts and prayers to Art’s family and loved ones.”
