Police Called for Downtown Fracas Involving 20 People

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Wednesday, Aug. 14 to Thursday, Aug. 15.

Wednesday:

  • At 9:32 a.m., police took a walk in report of fraud on Mirona Road.
  • At 11:38 a.m., police reported fraudulent use of name on Airline Avenue.
  • At 2:28 p.m., police took a stalking complaint at the police station.
  • At 4:21 p.m., police reported a motor vehicle theft at a car dealership on the Spaulding Turnpike northbound.
  • At 8:33 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Bayberry Lane after a caller said a window was smashed.
  • At 9:15 p.m., police reported that as many as 20 people were fighting on Bow Street.
  • At 9:29 p.m., police reported a bicycle theft on Marcy Street.
Thursday:
  • At 2:24 p.m., police arrested an Eliot, Maine man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Marcy Street. Steven D. Sanborn, 43, of 1 Clark St. was wanted on a bench warrant for issuing bad checks.
  • At 3:34 a.m., police arrested a 17-year-old juvenile who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on a bench warrant after he turned himself in at the police station.
