Portsmouth Woman Charged in Jacuzzi Heist

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Thursday, Aug. 15.
Thursday:
- At 8:46 a.m., police reported a drug offense on Lafayette Road after the caller said they spotted a driver taking hits from a bong and swerving on the road before they pulled into a parking lot. Police were unable to locate the driver.
- At 1:16 p.m., police reported disorderly conduct at Portsmouth Regional Hospital on Borthwick Avenue after the caller said her boyfriend was threatening to drag her out of the emergency room before she could tell staff that he physically abused her.
- At 1:50 p.m., police reported a theft of prescription drugs at Gosling Meadows.
- At 3:38 p.m., police reported an unattended death on Striped Bass Avenue after the caller came upon a male subject who had died.
- At 8:43 p.m., police reported the theft of a laptop on Lafayette Road.
- At 9:45 p.m., police reported disorderly conduct at the Applebee’s restaurant on Woodbury Avenue after the manager said there was an intoxicated patron who spit on him and then ran away.
- At 10:34 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman following a motor vehicle stop on the Route One Bypass northbound after she allegedly robbed a man of a jacuzzi on Lafayette Road. According to police the female suspect fled the scene with two other women the caller said were prostitutes. Shalom LaChance, 32, of 258 Leslie Drive, was charged with receiving stolen property.
