Police Say Armed Man Apprehended After Kensington Shots Fired

Multiple police agencies worked to locate and take the man into custody without incident.

A massive police search underway early Tuesday evening in the Kensington and South Hampton area is over after police have apprehended a man described as armed and dangerous.

New Hampshire State Police, at a briefing with Kensington Police on June 3, said the man was taken into custody without incident.

Kensington Police had a shelter in place request early evening - which urged residents to stay inside and lock their doors until further notice.

Massachusetts State Police reported on its website that New Hampshire police were looking for Anthony Reardon, who was last seen in the Hampton area and walking south toward Amesbury, Mass. The alert was canceled and Reardon, 44, was in custody, police said.

There were reports that shots were fired in Kensington, but no immediate information was available on the altercation with police.
