Police Special DWI Patrols Coming To Portsmouth Area
Police in Seacoast communities including Portsmouth will conduct special DWI patrols this week, focusing exclusively on impaired drivers.
PORTSMOUTH, NH — Police in Portsmouth and other Seacoast towns will conduct a special patrol this week focusing on impaired drivers. The patrol will be conducted by the State Police and police departments of Portsmouth, Rye, Greenland and Newington. The specific date and time of the patrol has not been disclosed, but State Police say it will happen during the week starting Monday, June 17.
The DWI saturation patrol aims to combat the ongoing issue of impaired driving.
"Although State and local police work tirelessly against this issue on a daily and nightly basis, the project will allow a larger contingency of officers and Troopers to focus solely on the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers," State Police Troop A Barracks said in a statement released Sunday.
