Woman Upset at Taxes Threatens to 'Blow Up Pease'

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Thursday, Aug. 8.

Thursday:

  • At 11:05 a.m., police reported an animal call on Gosling Road where a feral cat that was a stray that had returned to the wild and was subsequently trapped.
  • At 11:24 a.m., police reported a theft of an iPhone and a wallet on Highliner Avenue.
  • At 11:32 a.m., police reported a two-car accident on Maplewood Avenue and Deer Street.
  • At 11:48 a.m., police reported a hit and run accident on Heritage Avenue and Banfield Road.
  • At 3:40 p.m., police reported criminal threatening at the federal Thomas J. McIntyre Building on Daniel Street after a woman contacted one of the federal agencies there and said she should go and "blow up Pease." Police said the woman was upset about her current tax situation and that federal authorities are investigating the threat.
  • At 6:46 p.m., police reported a simple assault at a Bow Street restaurant where a man punched a male patron in the back of his head after the patron was having dinner with the man's ex-girlfriend.
  • At 10:32 p.m., police arrested two Portsmouth men for liquor offenses on Maplewood Avenue. Patrick Osborn, 21, of 317 Thornton St. and Bryan Whitmore, 18, of 26 Harrison Ave. were both charged with violating the city's alcoholic beverages ordinance.
