Portsmouth Candidates Seek Senate, House Seats

State Sens. Martha Fuller Clark and Nancy Stiles have primary opposition this year.

The state candidate filing period closed June 13 and the top of the ticket features races in which Republicans are trying to unseat Democratic incumbents, from the governor's office to U.S. Senate. 

Below is a look at the candidates filing for local seats, according to the Secretary of State's website updated June 13 (some last-minute filings may not be represented in the state's report just yet; incumbents' names are in bold):

District 21: Democrats Martha Fuller Clark of Portsmouth and Peter Macdonald of Lee. Republicans Dennis Lamare of Lee and Phil Nazzaro of Newmarket.

District 23: Republican Russell Prescott of Kingston and Democrat Donna Schlachman of Exeter

District 24: Nancy Stiles of Hampton and Steve Kenda of North Hampton. Democrat Chris Muns of Hampton.
