Portsmouth First Night 2019 Updates

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Downtown Portsmouth was closed to traffic Monday for the 2019 First Night celebration. The following streets were affected:

• Church Street: Closed until midnight.
• Pleasant Street, between State Street and Market Square: Closed from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.
• Parrot Avenue: Closed until 9 p.m.

Parking at the Hanover Parking Garage is $5 from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. Parking at the new Foundry Parking Garage is free.

Fireworks were set for 7:30 p.m. Rain was expected to start at up at 7 p.m. and continue through midnight. This story will be updated if the rain affects First Night events. Find the latest hourly forecast below.
