PORTSMOUTH, NH — Looking for something festive to do this weekend on the Seacoast? The Portsmouth Garden Club and the New Hampshire Division of Forest and Land's Urban Forestry Center's Festival of Trees starts Friday and runs through Sunday night. This is the event's 23rd year.

The grounds of the Urban Forestry Center, according to Shelly Angers of the New Hampshire Department of Natural & Cultural Resources, "will be transformed into a holiday extravaganza, when local garden centers, garden clubs, historic homes, organizations, businesses and artisans show off their creativity by decorating approximately 100 trees, the Center’s historic Cape house, miniature trees, wreaths and more."

Tickets are $7. Children, 12 and under, are free. The festival is open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
