Portsmouth Parking Ban Issued Ahead Of Monster Snowstorm

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Portsmouth officials on Saturday announced a parking ban ahead of an incoming snowstorm. The storm is expected to drop 17 inches of snow on the city late Saturday night into Sunday. The ban starts downtown Sunday at 1 a.m. For the rest of the city, the ban starts Saturday at 10 p.m.

During the ban, parking is prohibited on any city street, including the downtown area. Violators will be ticketed and their vehicles will be towed.

The storm is expected make travel dangerous and knock out power Sunday. It will be followed by extreme cold; wind chill values as low as -15 are anticipated into Monday.
