Library to Launch Free Digital Magazine Service

The digital magazine service from Zinio is scheduled to start Aug. 1.

The Portsmouth Public Library is launching a new digital magazine service called Zinio, which will allow library cardholders to read some of their favorite magazines for free.

The service will be available starting Aug. 1.

With a computer, iPad, Kindle or other mobile device, a library cardholder will be able to:

  • Read complete digital editions of current popular magazines
  • Enjoy interactive elements in each issue like audio and video
  • Access anytime, anywhere on PCs, Macs or mobile devices
  • Keep as many magazines as you want, for as long as you want – no due dates, holds, or overdues.
  • Download magazines to your mobile device for offline reading
The library’s Zinio collection will include popular titles such as ESPN, Food Network Magazine, National Geographic, O: The Oprah Magazine, Seventeen, and many more, according to Portsmouth Public Library.
