Portsmouth School Department To Discuss FY19 Budget

On Jan. 23, the department invites the public to attend the first public hearing of the new budget season.

PORSTMOUTH, NH — Superintendent Stephen Zadravec announced on Monday that the city's school board will hold its first public hearing for the Portsmouth School Department's Fiscal Year 2019 budget this week. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, in the Eileen Dondero Foley City Council Chambers, City Hall, 1 Junkins Ave. in Portsmouth.

Budget season is underway for the upcoming fiscal year and residents who wish to provide feedback on certain line items, ask questions, or voice support or concerns should attend the meeting tomorrow night.

The meeting will also serve as an opportunity for Zadravec to share the district's goals with the board and community, including its focus on closing the opportunity and achievement gaps for all students.
