PORTSMOUTH, NH — City officials invite residents to give input on infrastructure projects they would most like to see in the city in the next six years. Portsmouth is getting ready to start planning the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), which will cover priority projects for fiscal years 2021 through 2026. Residents are welcome to submit suggestions through Oct. 15.

Portsmouth officials encourage residents to view the CIP documents on the city's website and submit a citizen project request form with suggestions for priority projects to consider. The goal is to meet infrastructure needs and make improvements deemed most necessary to the public, according to city officials.

All requests will be reviewed by city departments and shared with the Planning Board CIP Advisory Committee for consideration. The Planning Board is the body that overseas the development of the CIP, which supports the city's master plan.

The Planning Board is scheduled to vote on the CIP plan by December, before the City Council's final adoption of the plan by March, after additional work sessions and a public hearing.
