Portsmouth's Free Parking Shuttle To Return May 25

Portsmouth free parking shuttle is starting one week earlier than last year to better accommodate residents during Memorial Day.

PORTSMOUTH, N.H - The city’s free parking shuttle is starting one week earlier than last year “to better accommodate residents and visitors during Memorial Day weekend." According to Seacoast Online, the shuttle will run three days a week from Friday, May 25 through Labor Day weekend.

The shuttle runs every 10 minutes when in operation. This year’s shuttle hours are Friday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday from noon to 1 a.m. and Sunday from 1 to 11 p.m.

There is no charge for parking at the Connect Community Church.

Mayor Jack Blalock called the free downtown parking shuttle “very important” to Portsmouth businesses and people looking to easily get in and out of the city’s popular downtown.

“It’s vital because during those crunch times when people don’t want to drive into downtown it offers them a free and easy way to get downtown,” Blalock said Tuesday about the parking shuttle. “It would be great if we could afford to do it seven days a week.”
