PORTSMOUTH, NH — Pro Portsmouth, the Seacoast organization that hosts a number of events in the city, announced Wednesday it was postponing the 43rd Annual Market Square Day Festival and 10K Road Race from June to Sept. 26, 2020, due to the new coronavirus. Children's Day, which was booked for May 3, has been canceled entirely. The org is in the process of contacting vendors and those who have registered for the road race about the postponement.

"We will continue to watch the public health recommendations surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic over the next several months," said Barbara Massar, the executive director of the organization. "We recognize that we may have to make some changes to the festival and race as the situation evolves, and we’re committed to doing so."

Vendors who have applied for and received space confirmation have the option of attending the September date or deferring the confirmation to June 2021. Runners and walkers involved in the race can participate in September or defer their registrations to next year.
