Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris To Speak In Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, NH — U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, a Democratic candidate for U.S. president, will be the keynote speaker at the Portsmouth Democratic Annual Banquet this September. According to the Portsmouth Democratic City Committee, the local community has shown considerable excitement to meet and hear from Harris. Her last campaign visit to the city was on a cold snowy day in February, when 1,000 voters filled the sanctuary of South Church, with another 250 supporters in the overflow room and 300 waiting outside in hopes of meeting her.

When it was time for Portsmouth Democrats' Executive Committee to choose whom to invite as the keynote speaker for the annual banquet, committee members voted for Harris as the first choice in a 2:1 margin, committee members stated.

The Portsmouth Democratic Annual Banquet and Fundraiser is taking place Friday, Sept. 6. Tickets will be available in the next several weeks on the Portsmouth Democrats' Facebook page.
