Boston Red Sox fans wasted little time converging on Dick's Sporting Goods in Newington.
The store had plenty of World Series T-shirts, caps, hoodies, pennants and other memorabilia to help Red Sox fans preserve the moment after the Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals. 6-1, in Game 6 at Fenway Park to win their third World Series title in 10 years.
As soon as the last out was recorded, Dick's Sporting Goods and other retailers who had preordered the World Series merchandise sprang into action to be ready for their customers.
World Series hats were limited to two per customer. Some people bought several of the same World Series T-shirts worn by the Red Sox players during the locker room celebration.
All in all, the Red Sox latest championship was shaping up to be a banner day for retailers.
