Local Man Charged with Drive-Thru Assault

The following information was provided by the Portsmouth Police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

The following is an excerpt from the Portsmouth Police log from Sunday, Nov. 3 to Monday, Nov. 4.

Sunday:

  • At 11:16 a.m., police reported a car accident on State Street without injury.
  • At 11:55 a.m., police reported an animal call on Aldrich Road after the caller said they spotted a possible rabid raccoon.
  • At 2:21 p.m., police responded to a road rage incident on Islington Street and Spinney Road involving a motorist and a motorcyclist.
  • At 11:39 p.m., police reported a domestic disturbance on Highland Street after the caller said an intoxicated male subject was slamming stuff around the house.
Monday:
  • At 2:02 a.m., police responded to a simple assault on Woodbury Avenue that occurred at the drive-thru window of a business that resulted in the arrest of a Rye man. Charles F. Rondeau, 42, of 150 Lafayette Road was charged with two counts of simple assault and resisting arrest or detention.
  • At 7:47 a.m., police reported criminal mischief on Broadcast Lane after the caller said a basement door was kicked in.
  • At 9:46 a.m., police arrested a New Hampshire man who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Islington Street and Barberry Lane. David W. Grimes, 56, address unknown, was wanted for three counts of simple assault, second degree assault, criminal mischief (vandalism) and obstructing report of a crime or injury.
  • At 11:18 a.m., police reported a single car accident with injury on Greenland Road and Dodge Avenue.
  • At 12:43 p.m., police reported truancy on Sherburne Road and later located the student in question and took them home.
  • At 1:09 p.m., police arrested a Seabrook woman who was caught shoplifting at at Woodbury Avenue business. Tammy Jean Marshall, 47, of 241 State Route 107 was charged with theft (removing merchandise from premises) and default or breach of bail conditions.
  • At 2:16 p.m., police reported theft on Parrott Avenue after a male subject was seen going through cars parked near the Portsmouth District Court. Bruce A. Gardner, 47, of 43 Gonet Drive in Newmarket was arrested for theft; from a motor vehicle and taking into protective custody for alcoholism.
  • At 4:23 p.m., police reported theft at West Road business where the caller said a temporary employee made more than $1,000 of fraudulent charges on a company credit card.
  • At 5:12 p.m., police arrested a Portsmouth woman who was wanted as a fugitive from justice on Holiday Drive. Ann Lloyd St. Remy, 46, of 51 Holiday Drive, Apt. D, was wanted for issuing bad checks.
  • At 6:14 p.m., police reported criminal mischief on Middle Street after the caller said he returned home and saw that someone had splattered paint all over his car.
