Seacoast Outright To Host Portsmouth Gay Pride Movie Night

Celebrate Pride Month at Portsmouth's Prescott Park Arts Festival with a screening of "Love, Simon."

After a year of our LGBTQ kids and our community being distanced from one another, Seacoast Outright is holding a fabulous PRIDE event at Prescott Park in Portsmouth, NH on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 5pm.

Partnering with the Prescott Park Arts Festival, an evening of family fun will be enjoyed by 500 reservation holders. This year, because of COVID protocols, space will be limited at all Arts Festival events and must be reserved in advance. You can reserve your pod for 1 guest, 2 guests, 4 guests, or 6-8 guests. The suggested donation will be automatically calculated based on pod size. There is a small fee added to cover the reservation service.

Prescott Park is a treasure in Portsmouth. It remains free and accessible at all times to anyone. In that spirit, Prescott Park Arts Festival has always supported accessibility to arts and culture. All reservations are suggested donation and a completely voluntary contribution. If the suggested amount is a barrier in any way, please contact Jill in our office for other arrangements (603.436.2848). Your donation ensures there is always art in the Park!

All attendees are encouraged to wear they finest family-friendly PRIDE outfits and accessories while enjoying activities for kids and families. You’ll also be able to learn more about our local sponsors and partners, pick up your own Portsmouth PRIDE merchandise for sale, enjoy a family-friendly drag show starting at 7pm, all followed by the movie presentation beginning at dusk. People are invited to bring blankets for sitting to watch the feature presentation, 20th Century Fox’s “Love, Simon.”

Seacoast Outright Executive Director, Hershey Hirschkop, said, “This has been a tough year on our LGBTQ youth – we’ve seen an increase in anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues. It’s especially important this year that we celebrate our community by coming together in PRIDE, for this great event. We really need it. And hopefully, we’ll be able to have our traditional events – March or Parade and Marketplace later in October.”
