Lussier has been teaching workshops privately and for numerous art organizations for more than 23 years and is a nationally known workshop instructor in the Plein air scene.

His demos and lectures about a “less is more” approach to painting are always passionate and inspiring. This workshop is always well-received, and participants leave with a renewed sense of self-confidence.

During the two-day workshop, you will be painting a series of quick 8x10 or 9x12 sketches and will be given a time limit of 40 minutes for each painting.

Lussier will lecture and demonstrate the quick sketch method of using negative space, massing in the largest shape relationships in the more straightforward value plan possible, and how to say more with less. As each new sketch is underway, you will be given visual cues and instruction to help you achieve the desired results.

Regardless of your skill level, you will learn how to be more spontaneous with your decision making and learn to say more with less.

A comment most often heard is that Lussier makes Plein air painting look easy. His teaching method and his ability to convey how to simplify shapes, color, and value have inspired and influenced many students to change forever how they view and paint what they see before them.

All levels are welcome and space is limited to a minimum of eight participants with a maximum of 12. The classes take place Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
