Unattended Death Investigation Reported In Portsmouth

Portsmouth police are investigating the death of Deborah Miller at an apartment on Court Street on Thursday.

CONCORD, NH — Portsmouth police are asking for the public's help after the department began an unattended death investigation on Thursday.

Police, firefighters, and EMTs were sent to the Feaster Apartments on Court Street to perform a wellbeing check on a woman around 8:45 a.m. When they arrived, they found the woman, Deborah Miller, 56, dead.

"An investigation is being conducted by the Portsmouth Police Department's Investigative Division and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner," Capt. John Peracchi of the Portsmouth Police Department stated. "While the cause and manner of the death will ultimately be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, based on the investigation to date, the death appears to be the result of a drug overdose."

Police are asking anyone who has information about Miller to contact Det. Matthew Young at 603-610-7619.

Anonymous tips can also be made through Seacoast Crime Stoppers at 603-431-1199, online at seacoastcrimestoppers.com, and through the new “P3” phone app available as a free download. Rewards of up to $1,000 may be paid for help solving cases if the information leads to an arrest or indictment of a suspect or suspects.
