Work Starts on New Five Guys Burgers in Portsmouth

The Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurant at Yoken's Commons on Lafayette Road is really coming together.

The same is true for the new Rite Aid pharmacy and the Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank that are all located at the former Yoken's conference center.

The new $10 million commercial development includes a new stone wall around the red painted building that will house the bank and the Five Guys eatery and new green grass.

At the current pace, the developers hope Yoken's Commons will be open no later than Columbus Day Weekend. They also continue to work on a plan to refurbish the former Yoken's Thar She Blows conference center sign into a new Yoken's Commons sign that will have the same look and style. Scott Mitchell, one of the managing partners with 4 Amigos LLC group, previously said the developers hoped to open the new businesses in June or July.
