Winter Weather on Its Way, 7-10 Inches of Snow Possible in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, NH — Portsmouth will get hit with its first major snowstorm of the winter Tuesday.

There will be about 7-10 inches of snow starting in the pre-dawn hours Tuesday morning. Sleet and freezing rain are expected to mix with the snow throughout the day Tuesday, and wind gusts are expected to reach 20 mph.

Tuesday morning’s commute will be be dangerous and there could be power outages, according to the National Weather Service. State highway workers treated the Everett Turnpike Monday ahead of the storm. If power goes out, you can follow updates on the Eversource outage map.
