46th Annual Salem Holiday Parade
The 46th annual Salem Holiday Parade will be stepping off at 1pm on Sunday, November 26th.

The 46th Annual Salem Holiday Parade will be stepping off at 1:00pm on Sunday, November 26th. The theme of the 2017 parade is "Letters to Santa". The parade begins at the Fisk School, continues down Main Street to the Kelly Library, and ends at Salem High School.
We are extremely pleased to announce Brooklyn Murray as the 2017 Parade Grand Marshal. Brooke is 6 years old, and a first grade student at the Mary A. Fisk Elementary School. Brooke is best known for "Brooke's Books", a program she started after seeing the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey in Texas on the news. She saw that many families losing everything they owned, so she and her brothers packed up 70 of their own books to send to Texas. Her mom, Kate Murray, then posted on several Salem Facebook sites looking for books, and the story took off. Brooke was on WBZ 4 News, Carson and Kennedy, and was even contacted by national news outlets but her story was sidelined due to Hurricane Maria. Since then, Brooke has shipped 4,000 books to the Houston area with the help of the Greater Salem Rotary Club. She currently has 20 boxes of books in her garage, and is hoping to get more for the hurricane victims in Florida and Puerto Rico. Books can be dropped off at Kathryn's Confections on Main Street, or mailed to PO Box 2130, Salem, NH 03079. You can also bring books to the parade, as we'll have volunteers behind Brooke with wagons to collect them.
We hope you'll come join in the fun on the 26th - there will be lots to see including bands, floats, cars, an Ice Queen, Santa and Mrs. Claus, and lots of holiday cheer!
