5 Things To Know In Salem This Week: I-93 Work, Fireworks
Firework displays will be hard to miss in Salem this week, and the preschool program has some news. Here are top 5 things to know this week.
SALEM, NH — A 2020 presidential candidate is coming to the nearby Windham this week, and a new traffic pattern is coming to I-93. And Salem's Fourth of July fireworks will be hard to miss. Here are the top five things to know in Salem for the upcoming week.
- Nighttime lane closures on Interstate 93 North are expected Tuesday night near Exit 4. Striping, line removal and relocation of a concrete barrier will take place, as traffic is being shifted to a newly constructed roadway, according to N.H. Department of Transportation. This is part of the Salem to Manchester roadwork project on I-93.
- Are you ready for the Fourth of July? Fireworks will take place at Salem High School and Canobie Lake Park this Thursday to celebrate America's independence.
- 2020 Presidential Candidate John Delaney will be in nearby Windham Tuesday morning. The Democratic candidate is coming to the Searles School & Chapel. Registration at 9:30 a.m. and Delaney will speak starting at 10. The event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is available.
- The Salem Preschool Program is making some changes for the upcoming school year, with a new location and expanded mission to provide kids ages 3 to 4 years old with a quality education, school officials say. Online pre-registration has reopened for 3-year-olds. Space is limited, and will be filled on a first come, first reserved basis. The new location is Haigh School, at 24 School Street.
- With summer activities, remember to keep pedestrians, motorcyclists and bicyclists in mind while driving. Salem police have issued road safety tips for the summer season.
