5 Things In Salem This Week: Roadwork, Lunar Eclipse, NASCAR

SALEM, NH — A partial lunar eclipse, NASCAR weekend traffic, and planning for a project at Salem High School will be noteworthy this week for those living in Salem. Also, work on South Broadway Street is continuing. Here are the top five things to know in Salem this week.

1. In case you missed it, the Field of Dreams has started its weekly summer music series. The park is hosting some new bands this year with more musical variety. This week, enjoy some 60s music. The concerts take place at 6:30 p.m. every Thursday through Aug. 22.
2. Summer is flying by and before you know it, it will be time back-to-school time. Salem High School students will likely find a new and improved track field when they return to school this year, but plans are still under consideration due to the project's impact on wetlands.
3. With this weekend’s big NASCAR race in Loudon, fans will be cheering while some traffic issues are in store. If you're driving on the highways, be aware and plan ahead.
4. There will be an interesting partial lunar eclipse Tuesday. Accuweather is calling it a thunder moon. It's following the solar eclipse that occurred last week.
5. Roadwork on South Broadway Street is continuing. This week, mostly night work is expected, but drivers are still asked to be careful event if driving during the day. Nighttime work may include alternating traffic.
