Andover Choral Society Concert
Music from Argentina featuring Martin Palmeri's Misatango and live tango demonstration

Andover Choral Society, directed by Michael Driscoll, celebrates its 87th season on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 3 p.m. at the North Andover High School auditorium with a concert featuring Martin Palmeri's Misatango, Domenico Zipoli's exuberant Beatus Vir and several other works of Argentinian composers. It will also feature a live tango demonstration.
Written in 1996, Misatango is a brilliant pairing of the ancient Latin Mass text with the exhilarating rhythms and melodic features of Argentinian tango. "This concert of Argentinian composers represents exciting new musical territory for Andover Choral Society," says Music Director Michael Driscoll. "Palmeri's stunning Misatango, with its unique blend of tango and classical choral music, with entrance music lovers in the Merrimack Valley and beyond."
The chorus will be accompanied by a professional orchestra, bandoneon player Benjamin Bogart and concert soloist Sophie Michaux.
