Goodwill Opens New Store In Salem
Goodwill opened its 11th New Hampshire store in Salem at a former Coca-Cola plant.

SALEM, NH — Goodwill's latest New Hampshire store is open for business in Salem. The store, located on South Broadway at the site of the former Coca-Cola plant, is Goodwill's 11th Granite State location. The nonprofit hired 19 workers for the new store.
"Salem is a great town that’s giving us the opportunity to pilot some new ideas," Rich Cantz, president of Goodwill North New England, said in a statement. "We’ve been developing the idea of a boutique section for a while now, full of high-end brands that people seek out. We want to make it even easier to find a great deal."
The new store has more than 10,000 items will features a "curated selection of high-end labels." The plant location was built in 1921 and sat vacant for the last few years.

Goodwill said revenue from the store will fund workforce programs, including Job Connection.
A grand opening ceremony for the store will be held Sat., Jan. 12, at 9 a.m.

"A Goodwill store’s grand opening is really something to see," Cantz added. "We make a big event out of it, all week, with raffle giveaways and by freshly stocking the shelves every hour. People travel from all over northern New England to have a chance at finding great deals."
