Head-On Collision In Salem Police Log: June 14-June 18
A head-on collision between a garbage truck and a Ford Focus were among incidents reported in the Salem police log Friday through Tuesday.
SALEM, NH — The following items were selected from the Salem police log for the time period of June 14 to June 18. Arrests do not indicate guilt. The names of any minors have been omitted.
Friday, June 14
7:22 a.m. — Two people are being disrespectful outside of Red Roof Inn. Police speak to them and they leave the property.
10:46 a.m. — A woman comes out of the mall and finds a note accusing her of hitting someone's vehicle. The woman calls police and denies the charge. Police find no damage to the caller's vehicle and advise her to alert the insurance company about the matter.

11:35 a.m. — A landscaping crew is reportedly in the roadway on North Main Street. Police have them move their vehicles into a driveway.
12:48 p.m. — Police conduct a directed patrol targeting red light violations. None found.

1:28 p.m. — A child is reportedly left unattended in a vehicle near T.J. Maxx. The child is 10 years old.
1:51 p.m. — A hit-and-run is reported at Canobie Lake Park. Derry police locate the suspect vehicle in their town.
2:11 p.m. — Shoplifting is reported at Walmart. The store let the suspect go — items stolen were worth under $25.
3:43 p.m. — Timothy Patrick Sullivan, 54, of Merrimack, turns himself in on a warrant for charge of theft by unauthorized taking of property valued under $1,001.
4:08 p.m. — Craig's List fraud is reported.
5:39 p.m. — An ambulance is called for a woman with face injuries. She is intoxicated and has fallen.
5:49 p.m — A two-vehicle accident is reported in the area of Lowell Road and South Policy Street. The suspect vehicle, a large black truck, reportedly took a right onto Route 38. The other vehicle involved was a Toyota Corolla.
6:19 p.m. — The Fire Department responds to Zion Hill Road after a single-vehicle rollover accident on Zion Hill Road. The female driver is out of the car and has a possible hand injury. A utility pole is cracked in half and Liberty is notified. A wall is damaged. Police close the road from Tudor Drive to Arcadia Lane.
6:24 p.m. — A vehicle is reportedly struck in the Market Basket parking lot in a hit-and-run incident.
9:43 p.m. — There is an argument over a bill at Tomo Hibachi.
Saturday, June 15
4:33 a.m. — A garbage truck collides head-on with a Ford Focus on Route 111 near Ermer Road. The driver of the Ford is transported to Elliot Hospital in Manchester.
8:31 a.m. — A male is asked to leave after yelling and swearing in the parking lot near Market Basket and Home Goods.
12:10 p.m. — The Fire Department reports a bike rider is down on the ground near Main Street and South Broadway with a minor injury.
1:24 p.m. — A fraudulent return of stolen items is reported at Best Buy. The store will handle it, there is no evidence the items were stolen.
2:51 p.m. —A two-car accident with no injuries is reported at Kashmir.
3:26 p.m. — Police speak to people playing loud music at Hedgehog Park.
5:33 p.m. — A motorcycle accident involving a possible ankle injury is reported on Route 111 near Autumn Woods Road. A deer is off the road. The motorcyclist is transported to Lawrence General Hospital in Massachusetts and the bike is towed.
5:44 p.m. — An iPhone is reportedly stolen from someone's car near the liquor store.
6:31 p.m. — Apple Computers reports theft of approximately $1,500 worth of merchandise that occurred around 3:30 p.m.
6:37 p.m. — A white van reportedly hits a cart near Marshall's and drives over a median. David B. Lane, 64, of Salem, is charged with driving under the influence and suspension of vehicle registration.
6:39 p.m. — A tree reportedly falls in front of a vehicle on Lawrence Road near Cluff Road. No injuries, no damage to the vehicle. The tree is moved off the road.
7:30 p.m. — Two people are taken into custody after shoplifting is reported at Macy's. One of them is Tamara Del-Rosario, 25, of Methuen, Massachusetts, who is charged with willful concealment and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
7:59 p.m. — A neighbor reports loud yelling and clapping on Cluff Crossing Road. Police determine it's people watching a soccer game.
8:35 p.m. — Road rage is reported on Interstate 93, continuing onto Route 28.
9:31 p.m. — Police take two suspected shoplifters into custody at Macy's. One of them was Kiley V. Marek 20, of Woodstock, who is charged with willful concealment.
Sunday, June 16
1:30 a.m. — At Cigarette City, a few cars are in the parking lot with their lights on while the business is closed. Those involved were just admiring a newly purchased car.
2:04 a.m. — On Cluff Road, a vehicle reportedly goes off the road, across someone's lawn and into the woods. The driver seems uninjured and is walking around on his cell phone. Police and fire officials respond but find the vehicle unattended. Officers are unable to find him.
4:13 a.m. — A group of customers leaves iHop without paying the $85 tab.
9:59 a.m. — A black Lamborghini reportedly speeds down Route 28 and weaves in and out of traffic.
10:01 a.m. — At the police station lobby, someone reports that a white Chevy parking in the same spot for several weeks. The vehicle was stolen out of Canada. It was towed and the owner will be notified.
12:52 p.m. — On Kurt Road, a resident has a dispute with a neighbor who is reportedly draining water onto her property. It's a civil matter.
1:03 p.m. — A vehicle accident with no injuries is reported at Lawrence and Cluff Roads.
5:46 p.m. — Mall security requests police after a group of skateboarders refuses to leave the property. The group is gone when police arrive.
5:54 p.m. — Someone is injured after a vehicle strikes a tree on Main Street. James Reuben Moss, 37, of Salem, is charged with two counts of driving while intoxicated.
6:23 p.m. — Theft of items from a car is reported at the mall.
6:27 p.m. — Police take report of harassment involving a woman receiving phone calls from someone alleging she hit his car. He is asking her to send money.
Monday, June 17
9:21 a.m. — Bewrnardo Reyes Calana, 55, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, is charged with willful concealment.
10:29 a.m. — Jason Matthew Ambrozavitch, 43, of Salem, is charged with four counts of domestic-related stalking.
10:40 a.m. — Damage to a light pole is reported near Rockingham Christian Church.
12:25 p.m. — Two people are reportedly having intercourse in a Walmart parking lot.
4:37 p.m. — A shoplifter reportedly flees Home Depot.
Tuesday, June 18
8:14 a.m. — A utility pole is hit in a two-vehicle accident on South Broadway Street near Cluff Road.
4:07 p.m. — Serge C. Mathieu, 57, of Salem, is charged with DUI.
