How Much Snow Did Winter Storm Stella Deliver to Salem?

SALEM, NH — The Winter Storm Stella forecast called for anywhere from 12 to 24 inches of snow across New Hampshire and according to the preliminary figures from the National Weather Service, the state received just shy of those figures in most places.

The snowfall record in Concord was broken yesterday, according to forecasters, as 12 inches was reported by a spotter (we received 14 inches in my neighborhood). Across Hillsborough County (Amherst, Bedford, Merrimack, Milford, and Nashua) anywhere from 12 to 16 inches was recorded, according to reports from spotters. In the Rockingham County communities of Exeter, Hampton, Londonderry, North Hampton, Portsmouth, Salem, and Windham, received anywhere from 11 to 24 inches, according to the NWS data.

As forecasters also warned last week, the bitter cold temperatures will continue during the coming days, with wind gusts of more than 25 mph at times. State officials are warning to beware of snow drifts in parts of the state.

At the height of the storm, according to state officials, about 70,000 customers were without power. Most of those Granite Staters have power restored, according to online outage maps.
