Needles Stuck In Child's Halloween Candy: Salem Police
Sewing needles were found in a Salem child's Halloween candy this week; police said the needles were found in two Snickers bars.

SALEM, NH -- Someone in Salem stuck sewing needles in Halloween candy and handed the booby-trapped treats to at least one child Wednesday night. Police launched an investigation and urged parents in town to check their children's Halloween candy. Police said a Salem parent on Friday alerted authorities after finding needles stuck in two Snickers bars in his child's Halloween candy.
Police shared a photo of one of the needled Snickers bars, shown above. The parent and his child had been trick-or-treating in the neighborhoods off Kelly Road. The parent did not know what residence the tainted candy came from. The child was not hurt.
"The Salem Police Department is urging parents to closely inspect all candy received from strangers during the Trick or Treat hours," Salem Police Captain Joel Dolan said in a statement. "If you believe the package is suspicious report it to the police department."
