Salem Family Resources receives unique donation

Deja Vu Furntiture makes generous donation

Christmas came early to Salem Family Resources-Success By 6 in the form of a very unique donation.

Salem Family Resources needed a larger-than-usual diaper changing table for their early childhood education program to accommodate older and larger children with special needs who are not potty trained at a typical age for that skill.

Tim & Martha Stavrou, owners of Déjà Vu, the Londonderry "eclectic warehouse boutique" that sells furniture and architectural pieces ranging from trendy to unusual and sometimes even the bizarre, came to the rescue with the prefect solution; a pediatric exam table. The table looks like a bright yellow school bus, complete with stairs for safety and fostering independence for these children.

"We are delighted and touched by this incredible donation and act of kindness." said Cindy Jury, Executive Director of Salem Family Resources, "This is the perfect solution for the needs of our children, and we are extremely grateful to Tim and Martha and the folks at Déjà Vu. Their generosity will impact the lives of many children and their families for years to come."

"As a small non-profit, dedicated to meeting the needs of all young children in our community, we would never be able to afford this." Jury continued. "More than one-third of our families rely on tuition assistance to provide their children with the early learning experiences that help prepare them be successful when they enter kindergarten-so important for a start to their school careers."
