Salem Holiday Parade 2016
The 2016 Salem Holiday Parade will take place on Sunday, November 27th!

The annual Salem Holiday Parade will take place on Sunday, November 27th at 1:00pm. The parade begins at the Fisk School on Main Street, continues down Main Street to the Kelly Library, and ends at Salem High School. The theme of the parade this year is Lights, Camera, Christmas! - we can't wait to see what everyone's favorite Christmas movies and TV specials are! We are also extremely pleased to announce our Grand Marshal for this year, Officer Matthew Norcross. Officer Norcross is a vital part of our Salem Community. He has been an officer for 21 years. He became the SHS Resource Officer in 2005 and remained there for 5 years, when he was named the Salem Community Outreach Officer. He became the resource officer for the Salem School District in 2012 and has recently returned to his role as community Outreach Officer.
Throughout all these years, Officer Norcross has touched thousands of lives from kindergarten to the elderly. His love for the community has also led him to coach several youth sports and volunteer with the Salem Special Olympics. This year he received the first ever Murray Award, given to individuals who are dedicated to and accomplished in the goal of improving the lives of children in Salem. He also received a Community Involvement Award from McDonald's last month. We welcome all to participate in the parade - businesses, non-profit groups, sports teams, or groups of friends or neighbors who want to build a float or walk together. There's still time to join!
