Salem Man Sentenced for Causing Fatal Interstate Crash

Jeffrey Garcia, 36, has pleaded guilty to cutting off a car that tried to pass him, causing a fatal accident that flipped a car and ejected two of its passengers.

Jeffrey Garcia, 36, of Salem, has been sentenced to between 4 1/2 and 13 1/2 years in prison after pleading guilty to three charges in connection to a 2011 fatal crash that claimed the life of a Manchester woman, according to the Union Leader.

The Union Leader has reported that Garcia pleaded guilty Monday to negligent homicide, second-degree assault and reckless conduct for allegedly causing a car driven by Jennifer Caradonna, 30, to roll down an embankment on Interstate 293 in Manchester and flip over several times on Oct. 30, 2011.

Garcia reportedly prevented Caradonna's vehicle from passing his by cutting it off, causing Caradonna to lose control of the vehicle. Caradonna wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was killed after she was ejected from the vehicle, according to the Union Leader. Her sister, Melissa Caradonna, 28, was also reportedly ejected and suffered serious injuries, but the three children inside the vehicle were unharmed.
