The 10th annual Salem Citizen Police Academy is starting in September. Sign up now.
SALEM, NH — Residents and business owners are invited to learn about the everyday work of police officers during the 10th annual Citizen Police Academy coming this fall. Weekly classes will cover topics such as dispatch, criminal and traffic law, patrol operations, investigations, animal control, identity theft and scams. Those interested in participating are welcome to sign up now.
"Our annual Citizen Police Academy is a great opportunity for Salem business owners and residents to learn more about law enforcement and the work we do, and it's also a great way for us to connect with the community and share an inside look at the daily tasks our officers undertake to protect and serve our community," said Police Deputy Chief Joel Dolan. "We encourage any residents who may be interested to send in an application, and join us this fall."
The classes will take place every Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. from Sept. 10 to Nov. 19, at the Salem Police Department located at 9 Veterans Memorial Parkway. Signups are open to those who are at least 18 years old.
