Salem Police Log: July 8-July 11

Fires, shoplifting, and an accident involving two commercial trucks were reported in this week's Salem police logs.

SALEM, NH — The following items were selected from the Salem police logs for the time period of Monday, July 8, to Thursday, July 11. Arrests do not indicate guilt. The names of any minors have been omitted.

Monday, July 8

7:26 a.m. — A car-versus-bike accident is reported on Manor Parkway. No injuries.

3:04 p.m. — Someone reportedly broke car windows and slashed tires on Brookdale Road. Fishing equipment and a laptop were stolen.

3:12 p.m. — An accident involving a Honda Civic and a Nissan Murano is reported at Popeye's. No injuries.

3:43 p.m. — Mall security tracks a suspect who reportedly stole an iPhone. The phone is tracked to the food court area.

5:04 p.m. — Extra patrols are requested on Ashwood Avenue, after a caller says someone was taking photos of property for sale, but the interested buyer's agency reported no such person was hired.

5:10 p.m. — Several people call police about a man sitting on the Brookdale Bridge overpass talking on the phone. Police respond.

10:52 p.m. — Emily A. Danforth, 28, of Belmont, and Nichole Brackett, 30, of Alexandria, were charged with willful concealment after a shoplifting report at Walmart.

Tuesday, July 9

11:14 a.m. — Walmart reports that a man hid multiple items in his jacket. Loss prevention lost him inside the store and it's unknown if he left the store with the merchandise.

2:18 p.m. — Laura Jeanne Smith, 43, of Salem was arrested on a warrant from an outside agency and on a bench warrant.

7:39 p.m. — A man on a scotter is reportedly breaking into dumpsters behind a Delaware Drive business, looking for helmets.

Wednesday, July 10

12:48 p.m. — A man reportedly takes off with about $600 worth of merchandise from Best Buy.

1:25 p.m. — Two commercial vehicles are involved in an accident on Interstate 93 just north of Exit 1. One of the drivers is trapped. He is flown by helicopter to a hospital. The other driver is also injured. The affected portion of the interstate is closed to traffic.

Thursday, July 11

12:15 p.m. — Ivan Reyes, 24, of Nashua, was charged with unsworn falsification and a hand gun charge.

3:11 p.m. — A two-vehicle accident is reported on Providence Hill Road near Shannon Road. A man was transported to Holy Family hospital, and a woman was transported to Lawrence General Hospital in Massachusetts.

3:13 p.m. — Flooding is reported on Main Street.

3:51 p.m. — A bus breaks down at North Policy Street and Northeastern Boulevard.

6:14 p.m. — Road rage is reported at the Taco Bell parking lot.

7:19 p.m. — A fire on Lake Shore Road is reported. A pot on the stove was involved.
