SALEM, NH — The Tuscan Kitchen in Salem has recently renovated its bar and lounge area and has announced late-summer events and specials. As part of the renovations, there is a new elliptical-shaped bar next to top-to-ceiling windows. The new area seats 31 guests, many of whom are young professionals or longtime guests, company officials said.

"With pendant lights shining on the bar’s black marble surface and tall black leather-studded seats that skirt the stunning structure, Tuscan’s new bar encourages a social dining and drinking experience where the guests and mixologists take centerstage," according to a statement from the company.

The Tuscan Kitchen has also capitalized on craft beer, with 28 rotating draught lines. These include limited-edition and experimentational selections to give lesser-established breweries a chance to shine, according to company officials.

Among upcoming late-summer events at the Tuscan Kitchen are the Concorso Italiano food-and-car showcase on Aug. 11 and a five-course "Prisoner Wine Dinner" on Aug. 21.

Tuscan Kitchen, located at 67 Main St., opened in Salem in 2010. Since then, the company has opened several other restaurants in New Hampshire in Massachusetts. Last month, the company added a second Tuscan Market location in Portsmouth, located in Market Square.

The markets and restaurants are those of Tuscan Brands. Joe Faro, the founder of the Italian artisan restaurant company, has also invested millions of dollars into Tuscan Village, development of retail, housing, office, hospital, and other mixed-use space being constructed in Salem.
